Collaborations

We collaborate with several institutes, testing their magnets, discussing results, sharing techniques and knowledge.

We are open to new collaborations. If you are interested please contact us at te-msc-mqa-email@cern.ch.

Magnet test data sharing

The TE-MSC-MQA section supports scientific and technical collaboration through the sharing of magnet test data. Data from tests performed at CERN’s SM18 facility may be made available to external collaborators upon reasonable request, subject to applicable conditions regarding data ownership, confidentiality and CERN policies. Researchers and institutions interested in accessing specific datasets are invited to contact us at te-msc-mqa-email@cern.ch.

SMTF and IDSM workshops

Since 2016, we co-organize the Superconducting Magnet Test Facility (SMTF) workshop. Also, since 2019, we co-organize the Instrumentation and Diagnostics for Superconducting Magnets (IDSM) workshop. These two workshops focus on the two main aspects of our work: developing and maintaining our test facility, and improving our understanding of the operation of superconducting magnets. See below the links to all previous workshops:
